Day 1: Dublin, Ireland | Embark

Dublin, crisscrossed by the Liffey and Tolka rivers and adorned with quaint bridges, narrow alleys, and distinctive Georgian architecture, exudes a picturesque charm. Founded as a Viking settlement in 841, the city has a deep-rooted history that spans Viking rule, a 12th-century Norman invasion, and centuries of transformation.

Famous for its lively pub culture, Dublin boasts 751 pubs, each a hub for traditional folk music that fills the city's streets. The historic Dublin Castle, a 13th-century Norman fortress, symbolizes Ireland's evolving power and heritage. Renowned for its rich literary legacy and thriving literary scene, Dublin is celebrated as a UNESCO City of Literature, honoring the birthplace of numerous literary icons.

Day 2: Calf of Man | Douglas, Isle of Man

The Calf of Man, a charming islet in the Irish Sea, was once privately owned but has since been entrusted to the National Trust as a protected sanctuary for nesting seabirds. Each breeding season, the island becomes home to 33 diverse seabird species, each adding its allure.

Though the island lacks permanent human habitation, it periodically hosts researchers and ornithologists to observe and study its unique birdlife.

Included Expedition:

Zodiac Cruise

Journey along the rugged shores of the Calf of Man, situated off the Isle of Man's southwestern tip. Look out for nesting seabirds such as kittiwakes, razorbills, Atlantic puffins, shags, and shearwaters. Marvel at the striking cliffs and take in the scenic view of the lighthouse perched on the island's western headland.

Douglas is the center of the Isle of Man's business, shipping, transport, shopping, and entertainment. Its name derives from the early Celtic word Duboglassio, meaning 'black river.' Located in the Irish Sea, equidistant from England, Scotland, and Ireland, the Isle of Man is a self-governing possession of the British Crown and is not part of the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth, or an Overseas Territory but instead holds a semiautonomous status. It is home to the world's oldest continuous parliament, the Tynwald Court.

Included Port Activities:

Castle Rushen, Steam Railway & Tynwald Experience

Begin with a scenic trip from Douglas to Castletown to explore the impressive medieval Castle Rushen. Afterward, board a steam train on a 150-year-old Victorian railway, traveling through picturesque Isle of Man landscapes. Upon arrival at Douglas, continue by coach to Tynwald Hill in St. John's. Here, discover the historic site of the world's oldest continuous parliament, Tynwald, and climb the iconic grass-topped hill made from stones of the island's 17 parishes. Conclude with a relaxing return journey to Douglas.

Scenic Isle of Man Experience
Enjoy a scenic drive from Douglas to The Sound, one of the British Isles' most picturesque spots, with views of the Calf of Man Nature Reserve. Marvel at the local wildlife, including seals on the Kitterland islet and occasional sightings of dolphins and basking sharks. Afterward, visit Castletown to see the medieval Castle Rushen (from the outside) and enjoy free time to explore. Continue to Tynwald Hill in St. John's, a historic site for the Isle of Man's parliament. Capture photos here before returning to Douglas.

Optional Port Activities:

Cregneash & The Sound
The Great Laxey Wheel - Lady Isabella

Please note: Wherever Included Experience tours are offered, guests can participate in only one included experience per call unless otherwise specified in the tour description.

Day 3: Rothesay, Isle of Bute

Standing along the Firth of Clyde, Rothesay presents the visitor with a combination of illustrious gardens and grand architecture. The magnificent ruins of Rothesay Castle, which date from the 13th century, are what most people visualize when they think of a medieval castle. With a drawbridge, encircling moat, immense circular curtain wall, and tall stone towers, Rothesay is unique in Scotland for its circular plan. The ruins of St Blane's Chapel, a 6th-century monastery, sit atop a hill with views over the Sound of Bute. For true elegance, visit the country estate of Mount Stuart House with its colonnaded Marble Hall and extraordinary Marble Chapel. Built in the late 1870s in the Gothic Revivalist style, it was constructed of reddish-brown stone and housed a library of 25,000 books.

The Ardencraig Gardens, sitting atop Canada Hill, feature a walled garden and exotic aviary. Ascog Hall Fernery, located on the grounds of a baronial-style house from 1844, is a beautiful garden with the oldest ferns in Britain.

Day 4: Tobermory, Island of Mull | Isle of Eigg

Established in 1788 as a fishing port, Tobermory gracefully wraps around the harbor and ascends into the hillside beyond. Its name, derived from Gaelic, alludes to 'Mary's well,' a feature you can still find at the bay's end.

Included Shore Excursions:

Panoramic Mull Experience
A panoramic tour of Mull's ruggedly beautiful coastline. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Sound of Mull, the mountains of Morvern, and Ben More, Mull's highest mountain. Pause briefly in Craignure, an important ferry port, as you reach the spectacular Glen More.

Tobermory Town & Lighthouse Experience
Discover the vibrancy of Tobermory's Harbour, a bustling hub for fishing vessels and yachts. The multi-colored seafront houses have earned Tobermory a starring role in the award-winning children's TV program Balamory. Your guide will share intriguing historical insights as you stroll along the seafront.

Aros Park Coastal Walk Experience
Embark on a coastal walk from Tobermory Harbour through the enchanting Aros Park. Enjoy splendid views out to Calve Island and learn about the Allans, a shipping family who gifted the park to the people of Tobermory. Marvel at the Celtic rainforest's diverse flora and fauna, and if time permits, visit the Bronze Age Standing Stones at Baliscate, a significant pre-historic location on the Isle of Mull.

Optional Shore Excursions:

Tobermory Whisky Distillery

Please note: Wherever Included Experience tours are offered, guests can participate in only one included experience per call unless otherwise specified in the tour description.

Day 5: Shiant Islands, Scotland | Stornoway, Isle of Lewis

The Shiant Islands, a small cluster off Scotland's northwest coast, extend the Outer Hebrides. Once inhabited, these islands stand deserted until the summer breeding season when they transform into a haven for nesting seabirds. The dramatic geology provides an ideal setting for Atlantic puffins, black-legged kittiwakes, northern fulmars, and razorbills, along with a population of nesting white-tailed eagles.

Included Expedition:

Zodiac Cruise: Birdwatching on Garbh Eilean's Cliffs

Embark on a Zodiac cruise around the islands, navigating alongside the breathtaking cliffs of Garbh Eilean, renowned for its awe-inspiring cliffs and striking basalt columns. This area provides the perfect nesting sites for the large bird populations that come here to nest in the spring and summer months.

Stornoway, perched on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, was etched onto history by Vikings in the 9th century. Yet, its Hebridean roots stretch back even further, as evidenced by standing stone circles and pottery shards dating back at least 5,000 years. The island is a living museum of times past, with traditional blackhouses, some remarkably used until the 1970s, and Lews Castle, a modern homage to Tudor architecture. Latta's Mill, a rejuvenated 19th-century water mill, operates as an attraction, while fishing, farming, and Harris Tweed production remain central to life on Lewis.

Included Shore Excursion:

Ancient Lewis & Blackhouse Village

Embark from Stornoway to Callanish, often likened to Scotland's Stonehenge, dating back to 3000BC. The 32 stones form a captivating circular avenue design believed to have been erected for astronomical observations. Stop at Dun Carloway Pictish Broch, a defensive residence from the last century BC. Venture north to Gearrannan Blackhouse Village, a reconstructed settlement of traditional blackhouses with their thatched roofs, where people and animals once cohabited. Soak in the wild Atlantic coast's dramatic vistas as you conclude your circular tour.

Day 6: Am Baile, St Kilda

The St Kilda volcanic archipelago has the highest sea cliffs in Britain and the most important seabird breeding colonies in northwestern Europe. The National Trust for Scotland owns the entire archipelago and is one of the few UNESCO World Heritage Sites chosen for its natural and cultural qualities. Despite its extreme isolation, some 40 miles (64 km) off the remote Hebrides, there has been permanent habitation here for 2,000 years. The one-time population of hardy Kildians was finally forced to leave because of starvation. Their abandoned stone huts stand as silent witnesses to past settlement, but two ancient sheep species, dating from the Neolithic and Iron Ages, continue to thrive here.

Some one million nesting seabirds breed in St Kilda, including the largest colony of guillemots on earth and the largest colony of gannets, fulmars, Leach's petrels, and Atlantic puffins in Britain. The St Kilda wren and the St Kilda field mouse are species found only here.

Day 7: Lerwick | Isle of Noss, Shetland Islands

Lerwick, Britain's most northerly town, is a small, bustling, cosmopolitan seaport with over 7,000 people and fine architecture. Shetland Museum, located on Hay's Dock, is an award-winning attraction. Discover the island's many secrets through its exhibits, and look in the boat shed, where you can see demonstrations of traditional boat building. Also of interest is the stone-walled town hall, built in 1884, displaying an impressive array of beautifully intricate stained glass. Towering St. Magnus Cathedral, constructed in 1863, is likewise well worth a visit.

Included Port Activities:

Lerwick & the Up Helly Aa Experience

Explore the vibrant heritage of Lerwick on a guided walking tour, beginning at Victoria Pier in the Old Town. See the historic Old Tolbooth, the iconic Lodberries by the small boat harbor, and stroll along Commercial Street past the Market Cross. Enjoy panoramic views from Fort Charlotte and visit Lerwick's Town Hall. Discover the Up Helly Aa Exhibition, showcasing a replica of the Viking galley and memorabilia from Lerwick's famous fire festival. Conclude at the award-winning Shetland Museum, where you can delve into Shetland's rich heritage. Stroll along the Esplanade on return to Victoria Pier and your awaiting ship.

Jarlshof & Southern Shores Experience
Travel from Lerwick to Shetland's southernmost point, with a scenic stop to view the impressive Mousa Broch. Continue south along the coast with views of St Ninian's Isle before arriving at the archaeological site of Jarlshof. Explore ancient stone structures spanning 5,000 years, including Neolithic houses, Iron Age brochs, Norse longhouses, and a 16th-century laird's house. Conclude with a return journey to Lerwick, keeping an eye out for Shetland ponies along the way.

Western Shetland & Shetland Ponies Experience
Begin in Lerwick, exploring its charming waterfront before heading west to the scenic village of Hamnavoe on Burra Isle. There, enjoy insights from a local fisherman on Shetland's fishing industry. Continue through the Tingwall Valley to meet a herd of Shetland Ponies and learn about their unique characteristics from a local breeder. Journey through stunning landscapes to the Shetland Jewelry workshop, where you can watch artisans at work and shop for handcrafted pieces. Conclude with more stories of Shetland's culture as you return to Lerwick.

Optional Port Activities: Bressay Island Walks & Traditional Croft Visit

The Isle of Noss is a small gem of an island offering one of the most spectacular wildlife sights in the world. Its striking landscape provides the perfect environment supporting a colossal number of birds. Its grass-topped, vertical cliffs, some 500' (152 m) high, plunge straight into the sea.

Day 8-9: At Sea

Spend your days at sea, enjoying the many facilities available.

Day 10: Heimaey, Westman Islands

Heimaey Island is the largest in the Westman Islands and is four miles off Iceland's southwest coast. One of Iceland's most visually impressive islands, it is ringed by tall, vertical sea cliffs many hundreds of feet high. Heimaey is also the home to over eight million Atlantic puffins, more nesting puffins than anywhere else on Earth. A local story tells that puffin chicks, taking their first flights at night, often become stranded in the village streets, where the local children rescue them and set them free the next day.

Included Port Activities:

Heimaey Island & Reception Experience

Begin with a scenic drive to Herjolfsdalur Valley, where ancient Viking house ruins are seen, followed by breathtaking vistas from Cape Storhofdi, overlooking Heimaey and Iceland's glaciers. Pass through Skansinn to see a historic wooden church gifted by Norway, then conclude at the Eldheimar Museum, where a special reception awaits, showcasing the remains of a home affected by the 1973 volcanic eruption.

Day 11: Reykjavik, Iceland | Disembark

  • 1 Breakfast
Reykjavík, established by Viking settler Ingólfur Arnarson around 870 C.E, is the location of the first permanent settlement in Iceland. The census of 1703 recorded that Reykjavík had 69 residents and consisted of a farm and a church. The impressive statue of Leif Erikson, in the center of town, reminds all of Iceland’s Viking heritage. Its name translates to ‘smoky bay’ due to the geothermal nature of the surrounding area.
