Day 1: Arrive in Oslo

After arriving in Oslo, check in at your designated group hotel near Oslo Airport. Visit the Aurora Expeditions hospitality desk to collect your cabin luggage tags and consult the ground operations team for any pre-embarkation updates. They can recommend dining options, cash withdrawal locations, or last-minute purchases at nearby pharmacies or supermarkets.

The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure. All meals today are at your own expense.

Day 2: Fly to Longyearbyen | Embark

This morning, please ensure your cabin luggage has clearly labeled cabin tags indicating your name and cabin number. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, taking time to unwind before your afternoon charter flight.

After checking out, it’s a short walk to the airport for your flight to Longyearbyen, where embarkation will commence. Upon arrival, transfer to the pier to board the ship in the late afternoon. Settle into your cabin, participate in essential safety briefings, and embrace the excitement as you begin your voyage.

Day 3-7: Spitsbergen

The island of Spitsbergen is the largest in the Svalbard Archipelago and offers Arctic wilderness at its best. The members of your experienced Expedition Team, who have made countless journeys to this area, will use their expertise to tailor your day-to-day itinerary, choosing the best options based on the prevailing weather, sea-ice conditions, and the possibility of encounters with wildlife.

Phenomenal fjords, magnificent mountain ranges, and a polar desert rich in fossils set the stage for heroic tales of early exploration. See walruses hauled out on sea ice or beaches. On land, you stretch your legs on walks across tundra carpeted in brightly colored wildflowers. Visit towering cliffs noisy with nesting guillemots, puffins, and scree slopes that hold Svalbard’s largest little auk colonies. The most memorable thing will be encountering the majestic polar bear on pack ice.

If you have chosen an optional activity, such as kayaking, you can enjoy that activity when conditions allow. For those enthusiastic about participating in a polar plunge, as soon as conditions are suitable, you can hear the announcement to prepare for an exhilarating dip – a memory you can savor for years to come.

Day 8: Longyearbyen | Disembark

  • 1 Breakfast
During the early morning, you cruise into Longyearbyen and disembark at approximately 8.00 am. Farewell your Expedition Team and enjoy some free time before transferring to the airport for your return charter flight to Oslo to continue your journey.

Note: The arrival time in Oslo is contingent on the approved allocated flight slot of your charter flight to Longyearbyen, which expect to receive in February 2025.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.
