Antarctic Circle and Detaille Island
We had a 7:30 wake up with the hopes of passing the Antarctic Circle in a few hours. It was super cold on deck but we all wanted to stay on deck to see the imaginary red line. The crew passed out champagne to celebrate the crossing of the Antarctic Circle. Went to visit Detaille Island. Detaille Island had an old research station that Britian has restored since it is considered a National Monument. When the British left they left behind all of their pantry ites, most of their dishes, some boots and surveying equipment. Chris hiked all the way to the rookery, Pam, Glen and Kevin checked out the research center. We then had a short zodiac tour to the same penguin rookery Chris had walked to . On the way we saw seals – all Wendell seals.
Adventure Life has a great team. They were very knowledgeable and responsive and helped us choose the right Arctic Expedition for us. We would recommend them.

This was a life changing trip of a lifetime and exceeded my expectations. No details were left out during the planning of this trip by Adventure Life. The entire crew on the ship could not have been more helpful and kind. Everyone went out of their way to make this trip as pleasurable as possible.
