After another day at sea navigating among the gorgeous Chilean Fjords, we stopped at Puerto Eden for a short community visit. Puerto Eden is a remot village nestled in the Chilean Fjords with a population of about 200. The town is surrounded by stunning mountains teeming with majestic waterfalls. Once it was our groups turn to tour the village we took a shuttle boat into the small port and began our walk around the town. The entire town has no roads and instead features a winding network of wooden walkways to get around. The elevation in the town changes so often that this this form of transport makes the most sense. As we walked around we were told some of the history of the town from one of its citizens while taking in stunning views and avoiding the village cats and chickens also making use of the wooden walkways. It was a rainy day, but this just served to make the countless waterfalls surrounding the village even more powerful and easy to see from a distance.
Adventure Life has a great team. They were very knowledgeable and responsive and helped us choose the right Arctic Expedition for us. We would recommend them.
