We are high above the canopy looking for toucans and more. It is an overcast day but we are continue on our schedule to get to the top of the volcano. As we climb higher on the mountain, it is apparent that it has been very wet on the mountain for a few days. The very thick mud holds on to our truck when we get to the parking area. All of us try pushing and laughing, with the hope that the truck would be ready to drive us out later in the day. We walk higher and meet our horses. The rim of the volcano is one of the largest in the world. We can see miles of lava flow inside the crater. We also see new bird species due to the elevation change.

We went to the Patagonia on the Chile side and Perito Moreno in El Calafate, Argentina. Eric of San Diego handled our trip with expertise. The preparation went smoothly, despite some changes on our part with scheduling conflicts. He offered great advice which made us feel at ease with all decisions on the trip. It was truly a great experience.
