A journey back to an incredible country...this time featuring condors, flamingos, and pink dolphins!

Road Trip anyone...?! Our 9 day adventure to Ecuador was highlighted by a 5 day, 4 night personalized road trip \"Adventure Life\" designed just for us. Everything we wanted to experience and explore in the timeframe and budget I had available was granted; from highlands and climbing on the earths tallest \"Active\" volcano (Cotopaxi), strolling the beach/swimming in the Pacific near Don Juan, hiking, zip lining and Tarzan Jumping in the cloud forest at Mindo to visiting sacred ceremonial sites of the Yumbo (pre-Inca) civilization at Tulipe. Daniel was our capable, knowledgeable and expert driver /guide; sharing countless interesting facts about the country, culture and history along the way. Not to mention helping con mi espanol! Being able to see so much of the country and experience the way the locals live has created memories to last a life time. You should go! Explore all the lush landscape and historical aspects of Ecuador. Muchas mas to do in Ecuador than we had time for; perhaps I will make it back. We flew across the Drake Passage from Rio Gallegos, Argentina to King George Island and cruised on the Ocean Nova for 4 days before flying back to Punta Arenas, Chile

When I got on the plane in New York City (Jan 26th) it was 11°F and when I got off the plane in Quito, Ecuador it was 80°F degrees.

\'\'Antarctica? Why?\'\' \'\'Antarctica? Wow!\'\' Those were the two most common responses from family, friends and colleagues when they learned I was off to the frozen continent for the holidays. I stepped on the Antarctic continent twice: my journey through ice, wind and stormy weather a glorious one. John Steinbeck said it best: \'\'. . .we do not take a trip; a trip takes us.\'\'

The Adventure Life grant program sponsored a reforestation project for the Cachiccata and Socma communities. Two thousand trees were planted during the project. The group used a tree call the Tara, which is native to this area in Peru. The tree fruit is another benefit to the community which will be enjoyed for generations to come. It also fetches a good price in the local markets - giving another source of sustainable income to the local families. It\'s the gift that keeps on giving!

Yes! The largest temperate rainforest in the world. Little did I know that a cruise in Alaska could also be an adventure. Kayaking, camping, hiking, and swimming with icebergs...this is an adventure of a lifetime.

Our Galapagos and Ecuador Adventure was one of the most amazing destinations we have been to with the wildlife, culture, and diverse terrain. We did the 9-day multisport tour to San Cristobal, Isabela, and Santa Cruz. Afterwards we did an extension to Bellavista Cloud Forest Lodge on mainland Ecuador. There was never a dull moment of our tour!
