Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu

Welcome to the Himalayan country of Nepal! Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative will welcome you and assist you in transferring to your hotel in Kathmandu. After settling in, you will travel to the Mystik Mountains Adventures office for a brief discussion about your upcoming trek and to meet your guide and porters, followed by a traditional Nepalese welcome dinner.

Day 2: Kathmandu

Today is a great day for sightseeing through UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu City. Kathmandu, also known as Kantipur, is the center of Nepalese art and culture. It is a place for rest, relaxation, and easy-day sightseeing of historic and artistic temples and monuments. Kathmandu Durbar Square has an array of temples and the ancient palaces of the former Nepali Royals, enriching your experience of the centuries-old civilization.

In the afternoon, you will drive to the holy place of Buddhists, Swayambhunath. It is said to be around 2000 years old, and this Buddhist Stupa sits atop a hill. The main stupa is built of a solid hemisphere of brick and earth, supporting a lofty conical spire crowned by a pinnacle of copper gilt. Painted on the four-sided base of the spire are the all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. The hill of Swayambhu is a mosaic of small Chaityas and Pagoda temples. You’ll get a scenic view of Kathmandu from there.

Tonight, rest well at your hotel in Kathmandu.

The trip was terrific with great planning on your part. Most of the adventures were not mainstream and somewhat off the beaten path which made it especially enjoyable!! We felt taken care of and you all were readily available to respond to questions and issues. I would highly recommend your company and friends have already expressed interest based on our pictures and excitement.
