Billy Hawk Caye is a short boat ride off the coast of Dangriga, Belize. Before inhabitants, there was a family of Billy Hawks nesting on the island which inspired the name “Billy Hawk”. The birds came of age and flew away never to return possibly because of human intervention; however, the southern point of the island has been preserved should the hawks decide to come home.
Billy Hawk Caye has been family owned and operated since 1972. A paradise of approximate 1.2 acres, the island was a stop over for fishermen needing a place to rest and sort their catch. As the population of tourists grew in Belize, the interest of guests slumbering in tents became a demand. We now accommodate visitors from around the globe. For the adventurous, we provide tents. For the bed sleeper, we provide fifteen rooms with comfortable beds. Upon your arrival, your first impression of the island is stepping into a very relaxed environment.

This was my first experience with Adventure Life - and I couldn't have been more pleased with the trip. The guides and local staff in both Buenos Aires and Uruguay were terrific - extremely helpful and accommodating. I really enjoyed meeting the friendly staff in Buenos Aires in person (I left my bags with them for the afternoon).
