History, culture, and tradition come alive on this 9-day Mediterranean cruise! Sail the turquoise waters and shallow coves of Italy as you sail from Rome to Amalfi, Naxos, and more. Experience the magical shores and cobbled streets of ancient cities as you sail around this historical sea.
Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
Arrive in Rome and embark your ship, Le Lyrial, in Civitavecchia between 4:30 and 5:30 this afternoon. Settle in to your cabin and familiarize yourself with the ship and her crew.
Stretching from the Sorrento Peninsula to Salerno, the Amalfi Coast is famous for its rugged coastline of cliffs and coves, formed by the Lattari mountains which plunge into the sea along the Amalfi Gulf. Artists and travelers alike have fallen under the spell of its tiny villages - lost amidst the orange, lemon and olive groves, the vines and bougainvillea. In the fifties, the glamor of the Dolce Vita added to the attraction, drawing actresses and the Italian jet set to its uniquely varied, wild and rugged shores. The Amalfi Coast has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1997. Today, choose from three optional excursions to see all this region has to offer!
Stromboli is one of the eight Aeolian Islands, and is home to an active volcano. The island has even been nicknamed "Lighthouse of the Mediterranean" for its frequent, minor eruptions which are often visible from nearby islands. The island is also home to roughly 400 permanent residents. Spend today sailing around this unique island.
Located on the "toe" of Italy's boot, Vibo Valentina was originally an Ancient Greek settlement. Your optional excursions from this port are still being finalized.
Call today at Naxos, a port city on the famous island of Sicily. Venture inland to the Taormina ruins. Home to Sicily's most celebrated ruins, the Ancient Theater, Taormina's ruins are both remarkably well-preserved and located on an exceptionally beautiful outcropping. On your visit here, be sure to stop and gaze down from these tall cliffs to the sea below.
Also known by its Italian name, Navarino, Pylos has a long and storied history, dating back to ancient times. The strategically-located city has fallen under the rule of numerous empires. Your excursions here are still being finalized.
Together with Sikinos, Ios, Anafi and Santorini form the southern part of the Cyclades. Home to three small villages, Chora, Karavostasis, and Ano Meria, Folegandros is permanently inhabited. Details regarding the optional excursions departing from this port are forthcoming.
Historically, Paros was known for its fine white marble. Today, abandoned marble quarries and mines can be found on the island. The island also has a number of beautiful beaches. Your schedule for this stop is still being finalized.

This was my first experience with Adventure Life - and I couldn't have been more pleased with the trip. The guides and local staff in both Buenos Aires and Uruguay were terrific - extremely helpful and accommodating. I really enjoyed meeting the friendly staff in Buenos Aires in person (I left my bags with them for the afternoon).
