Explore the stunning landscapes, harsh deserts, sprawling horizons, and remarkable wildlife while traversing Namibia by land, sea, and air. This once in a life time Safari will take you from the Dunes of Sossusvlei to the Salt Pans of Etosha National Park; from the vestiges of the Skeleton Coast to the hidden villages of tribal people. Land transfers are in place to facilitate game viewing, otherwise you take to the air by way of light aircraft to cross the immense expanse found in Namibia. Enjoy comfortable accommodations, good food, and amazing guides as you explore this vast country in search of game, culture, and solace.
Meet your safari guide after clearing customs and start your exploration with a drive through the Khomas Hochland Mountains. Reach the Sossusvlei region after approximately 5-6 hours, keeping watch for interesting game and scenery along the way. Enjoy lunch en route and arrive to camp in time to freshen up before enjoying dinner under a canvas of stars.
*Flight must arrive to Windhoek by 9:00 AM or pre night hotel is required
Experience the unique dawn lighting over some of the world's tallest freestanding sand dunes this morning as you start your adventure in the Kulala Private Reserve. The rich reds of the sand and dramatic shadow lines make for stunning photo opportunities. Explore the area as much or as little as you would like before returning to camp for lunch. This afternoon discover the Sossusvlei region by foot on a guided walking tour, or visit nearby viewpoints keeping watch for gemsbok, zebra, and maybe even a cat or two.
Take to the air on a scenic flight to historic Swakopmund. After arriving the day is yours to explore this lively coastal town with its German influence and vibrant African markets before returning to your iconic hotel for the night.
Your second day in Swakopmund starts off with a private boat cruise on the ice-blue Atlantic Ocean in search of seals, dolphins, & interesting bird life. A seafood lunch awaits you on shore in Walvis Bay, and the rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Choose one of the many local restaurants tonight for a dinner on your own.
Set off this morning along the Skeleton Coast, named for the innumerable shipwrecks the shores have taken over the years, and travel past the Brandberg Mountain, the highest in Namibia. Drive 175 miles (around 5 hours) of the back roads of the Ugab riverbed on this all day excursion, keeping watch for the desert-adapted elephants, sprikbok, oryx and even ostrich.
Damaraland, an expanse of stark beauty, boasts a varied assortment of desert-adapted wildlife and incredible geological formations. Visit the Twyfelfontein rock engravings (recently declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Burnt Mountain, and the Organ Pipes while exploring the area. Other optional activities include cultural visits, game tracking on foot, by bike, or 4x4 vehicle. Return to camp for dinner and star gazing.
Continue your journey into the Huab riverbed in search of the desert adapted elephants then move north through the mountainous and rocky paradise of the massive Palmwag Concession. With numerous fresh water springs supporting large populations of zebra, giraffe, springbok, and kudu, wildlife viewing is captivating and varied. The specialty of the area is the large concentration of the rare desert-adapted black rhino. The predator populations are the largest outside of Etosha and include lion, leopard and hyena. Activities include day and night game drives as well as tracking the animals on foot.
Move east from the Palmwag Concession to Estosha National Park in your private safari vehicle on a combination game drive and road transfer (Approximately 6 hours). Etosha, the 'Land of Dry Water', houses huge salt pans leftover from a shallow lake that existed there three million years ago. Morning game drive activities are focused within Etosha National Park with visits to several springs and waterholes where numerous diverse species can often be seen at the same time. Highlights include lion, leopard, elephant, and black rhino sightings. Afternoons and evenings offer the opportunity to enjoy walks, hides and night drives within the Ongava Reserve, just south of the park - activities not possible within Etosha due to strict park regulations.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.

The response from Adventure Life to my first inquiry was prompt and promising. I worked with Jamie Broeckel, Trip Planner, via text, email, and phone calls- always extremely responsive and thorough with information and explaining the process to arrange a private tour for me to Malaysia Borneo. Within about week, the booking was complete and I made decisions because of Jamie's great customer service , friendly manner, and overall competence on behalf of the company's travel expertise. Now I have an itinerary, additional Trip Planner Assistants, several links for vital information for traveling to Maylasia, etc. Still many details for Sept. trip, but now the heavy lifting is done and I can enjoy the rest of the anticipation and research!! Thanks Jamie- you are amazing!!!!

The trip was not only memorable for the amount of animals we saw but also for the people and accommodations at the two camps where we stayed. Our first guide, BK, was a wealth of information about the animals, landscape and down to the plants and what they were used for. Everyday out was a learning experience with him. All the people at the camps were gracious and the food was excellent.
Our second camp in the Okavanga was just as good as the first as far as the staff, accommodations, food and animals. After our experience at the first camp we amazed that the high quality remained the same. Our guide, G, made sure we were able to enjoy every experience including a rush through the bush to witness a cheetah and an ensuing hunt that he heard over his radio.
In both camps there were enough guides out that if they saw something the other guides were informed which helped in seeing as much as possible. It was also nice that the concessions were large enough that we did not have vehicles following each other throughout the day.
Normally there is always something in a trip of this length that we think could be improved upon but this is the rare case where we cannot think of anything. From the time we left the States to when we returned it was one of the most hassle free vacations we took.
Perhaps emphasizing the use of the laundry facilities at the camps would be useful because of the luggage restrictions would be the only thing I can think of as an improvement to future clients.
