The quaint little town of Bocas del Toro in Panama was a great winding down spot. It was neat the way the buildings are built out over the water. The history of Panama City was interesting to learn about. I had no idea that so much history was involved with that part of the world.

At Selva Bananito Lodge the accommodations were simple and the view from the hammock on our porch was breathtaking! I swear time in Costa Rica goes more slowly. It was the most relaxed that I remember being!
While we did take a lot of down time, the activities we did were amazing - rappelling, hiking, horseback riding, tree-climbing, rafting, and snorkeling. This trip was so much more rewarding than a typical vacation!

I\'ve done a ton of independent travel and am always a little concerns that a tour will feel constricted or not my style. This was a perfect blend of activities and fun. We had a tight time frame so the ease of having the excursions booked and transfers taken care of was terrific. The local hotels were so great with local charm and terrific staff.
Courtney Beth Kerwin (Discover Panama, Apr 2008)
In Boquete, Isla Verde was such a cute place. The grounds were beautiful and the owner very friendly. She even brought us breakfast the night before because she knew we would be leaving for a tour before breakfast began the next morning. In Bocas, Hotel Bocas del Toro was also a great place. The room was spacious and had very pretty woodwork. It was in a great location of Bocas Town. The front desk was very friendly and helpful and the owner was also very helpful in recommending things to do. In Panama City, Seville Suites was very spacious and nice as well. It was in a good location for walking around the city for dinner and shopping.
Everything ran like clock-work. We had a bad delay from our international flight, but the Panama tour company, Tecal Tours, was waiting for us right when we arrived the next morning. They adjusted our tour that day so that we wouldn't miss out. After each plane ride, there was a driver or the tour company waiting for us. We felt like celebrities!
Our tour guide from Tecal Tours, Benny, was awesome. He was so friendly. He was very knowledgeable of the history of Panama City. We really enjoyed ... Read All

I continue to be amazed that, in Central and South America, you manage to convince the drivers to be precisely on time (to quote Wade Davis, there are no train schedules in Columbia, only rumors). The two guides for the Embera (Kenny) and Barro Colorado (Wendy) were delightful, fun, and knowledgeable.
I have to comment on the local crafts -- the cocobolo and the tagua carvings of the Embera, their magnificent, intricate weavings of baskets, and the Molas of the Kuna. Some of these were amazingly beautiful, executed with magnificent skill. It was an honor to visit the people and have them share something of their lifestyles with us. Obviously, we were delighted.
You don\'t provide an option for the experience exceeding expectations, or I\'d have checked that one. Adventure Life has done it again. This was a great trip!
Anne Guest (Encounter Pamana + Bocas del Toro, Dec 2005)
This was a really well thought out trip! We would not have been able to figure everything out on our own. [ Back to Top ] -- Tranquilo Bay Escape --
