\'\'Antarctica? Why?\'\' \'\'Antarctica? Wow!\'\' Those were the two most common responses from family, friends and colleagues when they learned I was off to the frozen continent for the holidays. I stepped on the Antarctic continent twice: my journey through ice, wind and stormy weather a glorious one. John Steinbeck said it best: \'\'. . .we do not take a trip; a trip takes us.\'\'

Awe -- \"an overwhelming feeling of reverence, admiration, fear, etc., produced by that which is grand, sublime, extremely powerful, or the like.\" Yep, that sums up my ~3 weeks in and around Antarctica. Always at the top of my must-do list, I decided to stop talking about it and start living it! The following journal recounts my incredible journey. I hope it inspires you to take that leap!

Beau Pinkerton and I just finished a cruise thru the NW Passage from W. Greenland to Kugluktuk, Nunavut above Alberta in Sept 2012. The crew and staff were fantastic, the food \'\'off the chart\'\', and the trips ashore to see wildlife and visiting Inuit villages excellent and well planned. I had a blast visiting remote islands, villages, exploration sites and just cruising the remote straits, gulfs and inlets. Overall, Clayton, Brad and his team did an outstanding job on this incredible adventure.
