MITCHELL FALLS, & WINYALKAN
Mitchell Falls in Mitchell River National Park are known for their stunning tiered waterfalls and emerald green rock pools. Visitors can enjoy a scenic helicopter flight to see the falls, rock pools, and ancient rock art hidden in caves. The park is home to diverse wildlife, thanks to its constant water source, and offers great views from sandstone terraces. Alternatives include exploring the sandstone caves of Wollaston Bay or Creek, a labyrinth of weathered tunnels and arches. End the day with a sunset over the Indian Ocean and a gourmet BBQ.

PRINCE REGENT RIVER AND CAREENING BAY (WUNBUNG-GU)
King Cascade, a stunning terraced waterfall in the Kimberley, is renowned for its picturesque scenery. Water flows down a series of Kimberley sandstone terraces, adorned with a vibrant mix of grasses, mosses, and ferns. This natural wonder is accessible via Xplorer tender vessels along the Prince Regent River, a unique straight river that follows a fault line.
The area also holds historical significance with nearby Careening Bay, where Lt. Phillip Parker King repaired his vessel, HMC Mermaid, in 1820. A notable landmark from this event is the Mermaid Boab Tree, marked by the ship's carpenter and now listed on the National Register of Big Trees for its impressive size and historical inscription.
MONTGOMERY REEF (YOWJAB)
Montgomery Reef is a 300 sq km area named by Phillip Parker King that rises twice daily from the Indian Ocean in 11m tides, revealing a flat-topped reef with rock pools and rivulets. Witness this spectacle up close with your Xplorer and Zodiac inflatable tenders, and see the opportunistic birds and wildlife feeding on exposed marine life.
HORIZONTAL FALLS (GARAANNGADDIM) AND BUCCANEER ARCHIPELAGO
The Horizontal Falls in the Kimberley are a natural wonder created as seawater rushes through a narrow gorge. It's a highlight of Kimberley expedition cruises where you can ride the rapids on Zodiac inflatable tenders. Talbot Bay is at the heart of the Buccaneer Archipelago with over 800 islands estimated at over 2 billion years old. At Cyclone Creek, you'll see impressive rock formations and cruise past Koolan Island before enjoying sunset drinks at Nares Point.
THE LACEPEDES
The Lacepede Islands are an important nature reserve for seabird nesting and green turtles. You can explore the lagoons using Xplorer and Zodiac tender vessels if weather permits.
